REPLACE THE WORD DRINK WITH EAT.
When you are on a juice cleanse we find it is best to think of your juices as food or a meal versus a drink. Making that simple vocabulary change can improve your chances of making it through your cleanse without a slip up.
CHEW YOUR JUICE.
It may sound silly but chewing your juice starts digestion and warms up the juice a bit before it hits your stomach. Chewing can also help you to feel more satiated throughout the cleanse.
FOCUS ON THE POSITIVE.
Instead of thinking of all the donuts and chips you can't have, focus on all the vitamins and nutrients your body is receiving during your cleanse.
Dry brush every day on your cleanse. Take 10 minutes in the morning and before dinner to dry brush your skin, starting with your feet in upward stokes. Not only does this slough off dead skin, it helps to move built up lymph and stimulate blood flow, all of which helps your body move through stagnant energy and build up.
Burning sage or another type of smudge stick is a great way to remind yourself that you are cleansing your body. Smudging yourself in the morning and before bed is a great way to ground. To choose which smudge is best, ask your body what you need.

DRINK NUT MILK.
Drinking nut milk in the afternoon or whenever you feel hungriest will help you stick with the juice cleanse. Nut milk is great for brain function and has a slightly sweet note which can curb your sweet tooth.
Whether it's 10 minutes or an hour, taking time to acknowledge how you feel, both emotionally and physically, can help your body release.
DRESS UP YOUR JUICE.
Whether it's putting your juice in ceremonial or fancy cup, or adding a few slices of fresh produce to it, making your juice look special is a great way to entice your body and mind. Play with making it look like a cocktail or part of a native ritual.
TAKE A WARM BATH.
Letting your body relax in a warm bath will not only soothe your muscles but will warm your body up while doing a juice cleanse. Adding epsom salt or clay is a great way aid your body in removing excess heavy metals while on your cleanse.
LET'S TALK #2.
While you are cleansing you may see a big difference in your bathroom habits or none at all. Don't be alarmed either way. While you are juicing your intestines are given the chance to play catch up in removing excess debris clinging to the inner lining. Doing a 3 day or up to a week cleanse, you will see more examples of either congestion or releasing. The biggest tip on this subject we can give is: it's tied to your emotions. If you are unwilling to move on from the past, harboring resentment or even trying to avoid dealing with issues, your body knows and will usually tell you in the form of your 💩.
TAKE A WALK.
Put on your favorite shoes and head outside. Whether it's 10 minutes or an hour, walking is a great way to get your blood pumping and some fresh air. Walking is also one of the best ways to get lymph flowing and passed through the nodes.
ADD YOUR TIME CAPSULE TO HOT TEA.
Sometimes juicing in the middle of winter can have you feeling a bit chilled. We recommend heating up 8oz of water and adding 1/4 of the shooter. This will help you warm up and can take a bit of the sting out of drinking a full shooter at once.
During the first few days of cleansing, especially the third day, your body will want to move slower or even take a nap. Do it! Even though you aren't digesting food, your organs are still at work flushing out build ups and blockages which takes energy. Do you really need more of a reason to curl up in bed and reread your favorite book?
TAKE A MENTAL DAY OFF.
Especially on your third day of a juice cleanse your mind can feel a bit fuzzy or slow. When you plan your detox make sure your schedule it where you don't have to do any work on your third and fourth days of cleansing. Enjoy the loopiness and watch a movie or take a bath instead of catching up on work or chores. You deserve a break and so does your body.
SIP YOUR JUICE SLOWLY.
One of our favorite things to do is pour the juice into a small cup. We find that this keeps you from gulping it all down. Another great way to slowly sip your juice is to use a straw and only drink one straw full at a time.
TAKE A DEEP BREATH.
Even though breathing is a gift our body gives to us each day we can be more conscious of breathing deeper and slower. Sometimes when you are cleansing, anxiety can arise and taking 5-10 minutes to focus on your breath can help you calm and refocus.
SKIP THE SUPPLEMENTS.
When you are on a juice cleanse you are feeding your body loads of nutrients, antioxidants and enzymes so you don't need to take extra vitamins and minerals. Some supplements are diuretics which could interfere with the absorption of all the good you are putting into your body.
DRINK JUICE AT ROOM TEMPERATURE.
This will help you feel fuller faster as well as giving your body a leg up in absorbing the nutrients and enzymes.
FOREGO THE COFFEE.
This is probably a hard one for most people! When you drink coffee without eating solid food it can get your adrenal hormones out of whack and cause undue stress on your body. Take a few days off the java and get amped up on enzymes.
GET PLENTY OF SLEEP.
While you are on a juice cleanse your body needs some extra down time to clear out built up toxins. So aim to go to bed a couple hours earlier each night you're cleansing or take a mid afternoon nap.
DON'T OVER DO IT.
Yes, doing a juice cleanse is great for you and your body but just drinking green juice for 3 months can cause your body to not get enough balanced nutrition. Just like life, balance is key!
By now, we all know we should be drinking more water on a daily basis. This does not stop when you are on a juice cleanse. Even though you are drinking a liquid, think of it as a food instead, and drink a glass of water in between each juice.
CHEW ON A CARDAMOM POD.
More than likely your sweet tooth will be going wild during your cleanse. You can soothe the craving a bit by drinking a sweeter juice or a small bit of nut milk. A tried and true tip is just chew on a cardamom pod. This luxurious spice has a unique way of killing the sweet tooth unlike any other remedy. You can also try cloves which are great for your teeth and gums.
ADD HALF AN AVOCADO TO A GREEN JUICE.
If you're feeling hungry or you're about to hit the gym, add 1/2 an avocado to a full sized green juice in a blender and blitz for 15-25 seconds until smooth. Adding fat to your juices can aid in absorption of vitamins and minerals as well.
